Dreamy Taxonomies

The Dreamy Taxonomies Print series started as a way to get to know our planet better, one species at a time. I would dedicate a couple of hours to researching the facts and stories of a particular species and learn something new about them, while making prints inspired by their patterns. I use a combination of media and collage techniques to produce these hand-drawn prints. The repetitive patterns stem from a mindful, meditative practice I use to ground myself and connect with different beings.

Hi :) My name is Lexi, and I am an Athens-based German-French artist, curator, and artistic researcher with a focus on nature-culture relationships. Alongside my research, I have a multimedia art practice that combines text, images, and sound in intricate collages. With my art prints, I hope to showcase the beautiful colours, patterns, and textures of nature and put a spotlight on lesser-known creatures that live on our planet. If you have ever encountered the species in this print, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me and tell me the whole story.
